YOUR CHANCE TO NAME A YEARLING FILLY!
If you’re like most of us, you think you’d come up with a great name for your horse if you ever have the chance! Now you do…
Our 2023 Name That Horse contest offers you the opportunity to name a West Virginia-bred foal, and who knows – maybe you’ll even see the filly you named in the West Virginia Breeders’ Classics one day!
You can enter free, and one lucky winner will win their choice of West Virginia Breeders Classics swag, or the chance to have a VIP experience at WVBC 2023, including dinner and more!
Our yearling is a daughter of Street Boss out of the Rock Slide mare Rocky’s Angel. She was bred in West Virginia by Tim and Judy Grams and foaled in March of this year. Street Boss, a son of Street Cry, won two Grade 1 races and earned over $800,000 in his racing career. As a sire, his top progeny include Kentucky Oaks winner Cathryn Sophia, Arkansas Derby winner Danza, and King’s Bishop (now Allen Jerkens) winner Capo Bastone.
A homebred for the Grams family, Rocky’s Angel won four times in her racing career. She’s had six foals to race; all six are winners. She is out of the Rakeen mare B. J. Bear.
